The Workplace Relations Commission recommended that a worker and his employer regard his dispute over employment status and pay-scale placement as closed. The recommendation was dated 26 September 2025. The worker said he had been incorrectly classified as self-employed and placed on the wrong point of a salary scale. He estimated losses of €133,311, including annual leave, public holidays, pension rights and continuing earnings. That figure was his estimate, not an award. The employer argued that the dispute concerned a body of workers and matters covered by agreed industrial relations processes. The officer said the worker’s claim challenged those processes and that his employment status for the period from 2008 to 2018 had not been established. She did not recommend in his favour and recommended that the parties treat the dispute as closed.
