The WRC recommended that a worker be assigned a mentor to help prepare for future promotion interviews. Adjudication Officer Eileen Campbell dated the recommendation 14 November 2023. The worker said he had been overlooked for promotion despite his qualifications and experience. The employer said he had scored below successful candidates in five interviews. Campbell found no procedural defect in the grievance process, accepted the employer’s explanation that an overseas qualification was equivalent, and said the worker had agreed with the feedback on his interview evaluation. She declined to recommend a promotion or a different recruitment process, and recommended that HR appoint a mentor to support his preparation for another interview.
