WRC notes bar tender’s redundancy dispute was resolved

The WRC noted that a bar tender’s redundancy dispute with a public house had been resolved to both sides’ satisfaction. The recommendation under section 13 of the Industrial Relations Act 1969 was dated 11 September 2023. The worker said he had not been paid statutory redundancy when the business closed, but told the hearing he had since received payment from the Social Fund. He raised notice pay shortly before the hearing; the adjudicator said that issue would need a separate hearing because it had not been properly registered and communicated to the employer.
