The Workplace Relations Commission recommended that a factory pay a general operative €1,000 over delays in handling his grievance. The recommendation, dated 13 December 2023, also called for a stage-two meeting within two weeks if he wished to continue his grievance. The worker said he raised a pay-rate issue in writing with his line manager and received no response before seeking to escalate it to HR. The employer said it had no record of the earlier grievance stages and asked him to follow its procedure. The officer found the worker had proof of delivery and that the employer had not acknowledged the letter or given a substantive response.
