WRC recommends health service provider restore worker’s pay progression from point 7

The Workplace Relations Commission recommended that a health service provider recalculate a worker’s salary from point 7 of the scale and pay the difference from 1 November 2021 until the recommendation is implemented. It was dated 9 November 2023. The worker had been paid at point 7 while working through an agency, but the employer credited her prior service from point 1 when she became a direct employee, placing her at point 6. The adjudication officer found the employer’s circular did not address this situation and that the employer had treated a comparable agency worker differently without explaining why.
