The Workplace Relations Commission recommended that a worker and a restaurant meet with an independent mediator to seek a resolution of her grievance, in a decision dated 30 November 2023. The worker said she had complained of alleged bullying by a co-worker, but the grievance was not processed after she went on leave. The restaurant said it paused the process because she could not participate and was ready to investigate when she could engage. The adjudicator agreed there was not enough information to begin a full grievance process. The co-worker had since left the restaurant, and the hearing did not examine whether the bullying allegation was valid.
