The Workplace Relations Commission found a paramedic’s complaint over lost Sunday premium, shift allowance and subsistence was not well founded. Its recommendation was dated 15 September 2023. The worker said the ambulance service’s Covid redeployment policy protected those benefits after his move to a support post. The employer said he had been reassigned within the ambulance service, rather than redeployed from a non-essential service. The WRC found the policy’s redeployment terms did not cover him. It also found he was entitled to a Sunday premium only for Sunday work and a shift allowance only for long shifts, neither of which he worked in his new post.
