The Labour Court decided that the Dublin and Dun Laoghaire Footwear, Drapery and Allied Trades registered employment agreement applied to workers at Elverys Sports Limited. The decision was signed on 27 March 1991. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union argued that footwear and clothing were the principal part of the business. Elverys said sports equipment and specialist sports apparel accounted for 73.6% of its business and fell outside the agreement. The Court considered the goods sold at the outlet before deciding that the agreement applied.
