The Labour Court ordered Maxol Millmount Service Station Maxol Millmount to pay Jing Quan Xiao €3,500 after finding the employer failed to pay annual leave entitlement in advance, as required by section 20 of the Organisation of Working Time Act 1997. The decision was signed on 16 January 2026. The employer accepted the breach and said it paid the shortfall when Xiao’s employment ended in 2024. The Court said Xiao had to bring proceedings to secure his entitlement and varied the Adjudication Officer’s decision.
