The Labour Court recommended that Iss Contract Cleaners Ltd and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union meet to discuss an appropriate pay rate for two workers at the National Food Centre, Dunsinea. The decision was signed on 28 July 2000. The Court determined that the workers’ cleaning duties fell within the Contract Cleaning Joint Labour Committee’s definition. It also noted that their previous employer had paid them a higher rate and that their employment rights were protected under the Transfer of Undertakings Regulations, 1980.
