The Workplace Relations Commission found a salon stylist’s minimum-notice complaint was not well-founded, with no award, in a decision dated 28 August 2026. Lorena Martinez Vera sought pay in lieu of notice from Snip & Style Studio Limited T/A In Style Hair & Beauty after her employment ended. She said she was entitled to two weeks’ notice. The company said staff had been given notice and she chose to leave immediately; it did not attend the hearing. The WRC officer found her 14 months’ service entitled her to one week’s notice. As she chose not to work that week, the officer found no payment was due under the Act.
