The Workplace Relations Commission found for Tommy Madden in David Lipper’s complaint over being told that Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) was not accepted for a rental property. The decision was dated 5 June 2026.
Lipper said he and his wife, who received HAP, were interested in renting the property and considered the refusal discriminatory. The adjudication officer found that his message saying he would complain to the WRC did not meet the statutory written notification requirement before a complaint was filed. Madden did not attend the hearing.
