The Workplace Relations Commission dismissed David Tyrrell’s disability-ground complaint against the WRC as misconceived, frivolous and vexatious. In a decision dated 7 May 2026, adjudication officer Lefre de Burgh found that questions asked about Tyrrell’s disability during an earlier WRC hearing were part of the adjudicator’s duties and could not be challenged under the Equal Status Act. Tyrrell alleged that the questions amounted to discrimination. The WRC had argued the complaint should be dismissed because it challenged an adjudicator’s conduct in carrying out an adjudicative function. No compensation was awarded.
