WRC rejects Cargotec worker’s unfair redundancy complaint

The Workplace Relations Commission found Adrienne Carroll’s unfair dismissal complaint against Cargotec Engineering Ltd Hiab Moffetts not well-founded in a decision dated 13 March 2026. No award was made. Carroll said she was unfairly selected for redundancy and that age influenced the decision. The company said reduced demand and restructuring removed the need for a full-time ISO Coordinator. The adjudication officer found the redundancy genuine and the process fair, noting that Carroll did not use the offered appeal process. The officer found insufficient evidence that age affected her selection.
