The Workplace Relations Commission rejected Joshua Wellington’s complaint that Plr Worldwide Sales Limited penalised him for making a protected disclosure by not renewing his fixed-term contract. In a decision dated 24 March 2026, the WRC found no link between the disclosure and the non-renewal.
Wellington said the timing of the decision and the manager’s involvement in the disclosure investigation raised concern. PLR said it was reducing support work and headcount as it moved towards greater use of AI. The adjudication officer accepted the business rationale and found Wellington was not penalised.
