The Workplace Relations Commission has upheld a complaint by Freddy Muamba over public holiday entitlements, directing Lifford Dry Cleaning Lifford / Dry Cleaners & Laundry Ennis Ltd to provide an extra day of annual leave or a day’s pay for each of four holidays: Christmas Day, St Stephen’s Day, New Year’s Day and St Brigid’s Day. In a decision dated 11 March 2026, WRC adjudication officer Ewa Sobanska rejected Muamba’s four other complaints, which concerned mobile-worker working-time rules, rest breaks, annual leave and Sunday premiums. The respondent rejected the complaints. The public-holiday complaint was the only one upheld.
