The WRC found Laura Fagan’s complaints against B’Dazzling Hair, Beauty & Nails were not well founded, saying her public-holiday pay had been paid and she had not shown that she was penalised for taking statutory sick leave. The decision was dated 16 December 2025. Fagan, a senior hair stylist, said she was temporarily laid off and later made redundant while on sick leave. The business said staffing problems and financial pressure led it to close the salon. Fagan received her statutory sick pay, public-holiday pay and redundancy payment. The adjudication officer found it was common ground that Fagan had received the public-holiday pay owing to her. On the sick-leave complaint, the officer found she had not demonstrated that the respondent penalised her for exercising her rights under the Sick Leave Act 2022.
