WRC rules it cannot hear Stivens Sanchez unfair dismissal complaint

The Workplace Relations Commission ruled it had no jurisdiction to hear Stivens Sanchez’s unfair dismissal complaint against Kcs Cold Storage And Logistics because he had less than 12 months’ service and did not qualify for an exemption. Adjudication Officer Orla Jones dated the decision 15 January 2026. Sanchez alleged he was dismissed after refusing extra hours and said a later-hired colleague was retained. The company said the dismissal was due to business needs during probation. The WRC did not adjudicate the merits of the complaint.
