The Workplace Relations Commission found Mary Downes was not unfairly dismissed by Seetec Employment and Skills Ireland Designated Activity Company, and made no monetary award. Adjudication Officer Conor Stokes issued the decision dated 18 March 2026. Downes claimed the dismissal was unfair, disputing the process and the proportionality of the sanction. Seetec said it dismissed her for gross misconduct after a client alleged racist comments during a meeting; Downes denied making them. The WRC found that the process was not unfair and that dismissal was within the reasonable options open to the employer.
