WRC dismisses Laurent Gedin’s public holiday pay complaint against Apple

The Workplace Relations Commission dismissed Laurent Gedin’s complaint that Apple Distribution International Ltd failed to provide public holiday entitlements during his paid suspension. In a decision dated 14 April 2026, the adjudication officer found the complaint was not well founded. Gedin said he had volunteered to work the August and October 2024 holidays and remained available while suspended. The officer found the August claim fell outside the period considered and that Gedin was not rostered for the October holiday; he received a paid day off.
