WRC rules eight care worker complaints were out of time

The Workplace Relations Commission found eight complaints by Anderson Khabaze De Abreu against Liberty Home Care Limited were out of time and statute barred. The decision was dated 6 January 2026. The complaints included claims about working time, wages, unfair dismissal and fixed-term work. De Abreu said he was unaware of the six-month time limit and that regularising his immigration status had delayed filing. The Adjudication Officer found those reasons did not explain and excuse the delay, and refused an extension of time. The ruling did not determine the complaints’ merits.
