WRC rejects gym discrimination claim on procedural grounds

The Workplace Relations Commission found for Motivated Fitness Gym in a disability discrimination complaint by Amaal Zaki over the termination of her membership. In a decision dated 19 November 2025, the WRC Adjudication Officer ruled the claim out of time and found that required notification had not been given. Zaki alleged the gym ended her membership because of her disability, specifically ADHD. The gym denied discrimination and said it acted over her conduct, including filming and complaints from other patrons. The officer also found that Zaki had presented no facts from which discrimination could be inferred.
