WRC rejects Sudath T Peiris’s discrimination complaint over chef role

The Workplace Relations Commission found Sudath T Peiris’s discrimination complaint against H&H Collections Ltd t/a Coast Rosslare Strand Hotel not well founded. The decision was dated 20 November 2025. Peiris said he was not told about a Head Chef vacancy before a colleague was appointed in May 2024. The company said he knew about the Executive Head Chef role and visible advertisements but chose not to apply. The adjudication officer found Peiris had not identified a protected ground or established a prima facie case, and said the company’s information refuted his claim that he did not know about the role.
