The Workplace Relations Commission directed Cantarini Limited, which trades as Staycity Aparthotels, to pay Omar Mohammed Osman €3,000 after finding his dismissal unfair. In a decision dated 15 April 2025, the adjudication officer said the company failed to respond to his timely appeal request, although the dismissal itself was reasonable and the disciplinary process fair. Osman’s complaints that he was penalised for raising health and safety concerns and making a protected disclosure were not well founded. The health and safety complaint about a written warning was also outside the time limit for investigation.
