A Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) adjudication officer ordered landlord John O'Connor to pay Safinatu Kamara €8,000 after finding he discriminated against her on the housing assistance ground by failing to provide information needed to process her Housing Assistance Payment (HAP). The decision was dated 27 March 2025.
Kamara said O'Connor had agreed to accept HAP, but did not provide information sought by the local authority. The officer found she could not access HAP from January to August 2024 and had to leave the property. O'Connor did not attend the hearing, though the officer was satisfied he had notice.
