The Workplace Relations Commission ordered landlord John Haycock to pay tenant Laurentia Lalau €4,800 compensation after finding that his failure to complete her Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) form amounted to discrimination. The decision was dated 10 February 2025.
Lalau said requests for information needed for her HAP application were ignored or refused. Haycock did not attend the hearing, although the adjudicator was satisfied he had been notified. The WRC ordered payment within 42 days of its decision.
