The Workplace Relations Commission awarded Helen Nason €60,230 after finding Horizon Controls Limited unfairly dismissed her as chief financial officer. Adjudication Officer Davnet O'Driscoll dated the decision 20 May 2026.
The company said the job ended through genuine redundancy amid business difficulties and conceded that its procedure was flawed. The adjudicator found it had not established a reason for dismissal when Nason was let go or after she requested one in writing. The adjudicator accepted she made reasonable efforts to find work and that the lack of a reason made that harder.
