The Workplace Relations Commission found Kieran Mc Cann’s complaint against Aer Lingus Ireland Ltd not well-founded, concluding that he received his statutory annual leave and public holidays. The decision, dated 20 January 2025, said the buy-out covered leave above statutory entitlement. Mc Cann said carried-over leave and time in lieu were bought out without his permission or consultation. The company said its practice applied to combined balances exceeding five days. Payslip payments for the buy-out were €270.94 for annual leave and €1,094.59 for time in lieu; these were not WRC awards.
