The Workplace Relations Commission ordered Mooncoin Auto Service Limited to pay mechanic Marcel Girigan €1,700 compensation for failing to provide written terms of employment. The decision, by adjudication officer Seamus Clinton, was dated 6 January 2025.
The WRC rejected Girigan’s complaints of race discrimination and harassment. He had alleged that workplace treatment, including responses to incidents and lateness, was connected to his Romanian background; the officer found insufficient evidence linking the treatment to race. The company conceded that it had not issued a written statement of terms.
