WRC rejects Ferrycarrig Hotel worker’s dismissal and disclosure claims

The Workplace Relations Commission rejected Georgi Georgiev’s constructive unfair dismissal and protected disclosure complaints against Ferrycarrig Hotel, finding he had not been dismissed and had made no protected disclosure. The decision was dated 17 July 2025. Georgiev said he resigned after the Late Duty Manager role was discontinued and alleged less favourable treatment after raising workplace concerns. The hotel said the trial role had ended, offered him alternative work and that raising the issues was part of his job. The adjudication officer found Georgiev had not used the internal grievance route or accepted either alternative role before resigning, and that the reported matters fell within his job duties.
