WRC rejects discrimination complaint against St Vincents University Hospital on jurisdiction grounds

The Workplace Relations Commission had no jurisdiction to hear a discrimination complaint by Nice Marie Tarugo against St Vincents University Hospital, and made no award. Adjudication Officer Breiffni O'Neill dated the decision 10 January 2025. Tarugo alleged that a reference from the hospital harmed her future employment prospects and was discriminatory. The hospital said she resigned and denied discrimination. The officer found the reference was provided after the employment relationship ended and that any alleged acts during employment were referred outside the time limit.
