WRC rejects race discrimination and victimisation complaints against Sylhet Green Limited

The Workplace Relations Commission rejected Asad Siddiqui’s complaints of race discrimination and victimisation against Sylhet Green Limited, which operated Fairgreen Service Station. The decision was dated 28 November 2024. Siddiqui alleged that a colleague bullied and mistreated him during a January 2024 shift and that the employer failed to address it. He said his dismissal followed because of his race or because he opposed discrimination; the company denied the claim and said it dismissed him because he sought time off and did not want to work with certain staff.
