The Workplace Relations Commission dismissed seven claims by Darren Boyle against the Public Appointment Service Justice Recruitment Department over a Garda recruitment competition. The decision was dated 13 August 2026. Boyle said his case concerned disability discrimination, a failure to provide reasonable accommodation and victimisation. The adjudicator found the four claims under employment-related penalisation laws could not succeed because Boyle had never been employed by the respondent. The Equal Status claim concerned access to employment, which fell within the Employment Equality Act. The discrimination claim failed because Boyle had not shown the required prior communication alleging discrimination, and the victimisation claim also failed on the stated statutory grounds. All seven claims were found not well-founded, and no award was recorded.
