The Workplace Relations Commission dismissed Chloe Maughan’s complaint that Muckno Hotels Limited The Glencarn Hotel refused a wedding booking because she is a member of the Traveller community. WRC Adjudication Officer Conor Stokes dated the decision 27 November 2024.
Maughan said her grandmother handled the booking and that she had no dealings with the hotel. The hotel argued it had not provided a service to Maughan. The adjudicator found Maughan had not sought a service from the hotel directly and dismissed the complaint as misconceived.
