The Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) found that Merck did not discriminate against Ella Ovie in a complaint under the Employment Equality Act. The decision, dated 4 June 2024, said Ovie had not shown that she was employed by Merck or established facts from which discrimination could be presumed. Ovie alleged harassment, discrimination and victimisation on race and disability grounds. Merck did not attend the hearing, and two recruitment agency representatives who appeared were not authorised to present evidence for the company.
