The Workplace Relations Commission ordered Teagasc, Grange Research Centre to pay Noel McInerney €15,000 after finding unequal treatment of an agency worker. The decision was dated 11 December 2024.
McInerney said he was treated less favourably than directly employed staff in overtime rates, training, trips and access to vacancies. Teagasc argued that he was on a managed contract and outside the law’s protections, and did not attend the hearing. The adjudicator found the Act applied and upheld the complaint.
