The Workplace Relations Commission recommended that a language school pay a language teacher €1,500 after finding his dismissal unfair. The recommendation was dated 3 May 2024. The teacher said his dismissal followed an objection to a request to add three students above the stated classroom maximum of 15; the school said it followed his conduct during an exchange with his manager. He disputed acting aggressively but accepted that he swore during the exchange. The WRC found the school gave no reason in the termination letter and did not ask for his account before dismissing him. The adjudicator took his contribution to the dismissal into account when recommending compensation.
