WRC says settlement barred Connie Gerety’s unfair-dismissal claim

The Workplace Relations Commission ruled it had no jurisdiction to hear Connie Gerety’s unfair-dismissal complaint against North Leinster Citizens Information Service Limited. The decision was dated 20 January 2025. The WRC found that a mediated settlement agreement compromised the claim, noting Gerety had legal advice and gave informed consent. Gerety argued the agreement did not cover her complaint; the organisation said it did. The WRC did not decide whether the dismissal was fair.
