The Workplace Relations Commission awarded Colin Maher €2,500 after finding that his employer, Acls Training Services Ltd, Trading As Codeblue, breached the legal limit on average weekly working hours. The decision was dated 14 December 2023. Maher said he worked an average of 49.32 hours a week over four months, above the 48-hour maximum. The adjudication officer accepted the four-month reference period and found the employer exceeded the limit by about an hour and a half a week. The annual-leave issue had been resolved before the hearing; the decision also records that Maher offered no specific evidence about rest periods or Sunday work.
