WRC awards Ondrej Pavlak €2,338.44 over missing employment terms

The Workplace Relations Commission awarded Ondrej Pavlak €2,338.44 after finding that Liam McGlynn T/A Liam McGlynn Garage failed to provide him with a written statement of his employment terms. The decision was dated 25 January 2024. Pavlak said he repeatedly requested the statement, including while on sick leave, because he needed it for pension purposes. The employer argued that his employment had ended in April 2022 and that the complaint was out of time. The adjudication officer found that the employment continued until April 2023. Pavlak’s separate unfair dismissal complaint was withdrawn.
