WRC finds Globoforce’s redundancy of Elizabeth Keating was fair

The Workplace Relations Commission found that Globoforce Limited t/a Workhuman did not unfairly dismiss Elizabeth Keating, whose Finance Administrator role was made redundant. The WRC dated its decision 15 February 2024. Keating argued that her role was not genuinely redundant, that she was unfairly selected and that a personal vendetta played a part. The company said it was ending investment in its mid-market business and her role was genuinely redundant. The adjudicator found that the business change created a genuine redundancy and that selecting Keating’s stand-alone mid-market billing role was fair. The evidence did not support a personal vendetta. The WRC dismissed her unfair dismissal complaint.
