The Workplace Relations Commission found it had no jurisdiction to hear Ciara O Meara’s complaint that Explore Marketing Ltd Trespass penalised her for contacting the Health and Safety Authority. The decision was dated 15 January 2024; the merits were not decided. O Meara said she discovered the alleged penalisation in October 2022, after her employment ended in September 2021. The WRC found the complaint was outside the six month limit and the possible extension to 12 months for reasonable cause.
