The Workplace Relations Commission awarded Jasmine Olaru €13,000 after finding that Remo Foods Limited t/a Domino’s Pizza discriminated against her on grounds of gender and sexually harassed her. The decision, dated 1 May 2024, also awarded her €3,000 for victimisation and €3,000 for denied rest breaks.

Olaru said she faced repeated sexual comments and conduct at work and that her manager laughed when she raised concerns. The company denied the complaints. Adjudication Officer Elizabeth Spelman accepted Olaru’s uncontested evidence and found that the company had not adequately communicated its harassment policy or trained managers. She also found Olaru was victimised after raising concerns and had not received legally required rest breaks.

The officer found the age discrimination and harassment elements were not well founded, meaning those claims failed. She ordered the company to review how its harassment policy was communicated and how managers were trained. Olaru withdrew a separate complaint before the hearing.
