WRC says Carmen Alvarado Egli’s pay complaints were out of time

The Workplace Relations Commission declared Carmen Alvarado Egli’s complaints about holiday pay, public holidays and subsistence not well founded because they were lodged outside the statutory time limit. In a decision dated 13 October 2023, the adjudication officer said the WRC had no jurisdiction to investigate them; the merits were not decided. Alvarado Egli’s employment with Experience Medical Limited European College Of Aesthetic Medicine Surgery ended on 30 April 2022, and the WRC received her complaints on 7 March 2023. She said she had raised the issues earlier and cited personal circumstances, moving house and starting a new job as reasons for the delay. The officer found she had not shown reasonable cause to extend the deadline.
