WRC says it lacked jurisdiction over Ann Munoz’s late complaints

The WRC did not have jurisdiction to hear Ann Munoz’s complaints of discrimination and unfair dismissal because they were referred outside the statutory time limits. The merits were not decided. The decision was dated 29 January 2024. Munoz worked for Awp Health & Life Spa Allianz Partners until November 2021. She alleged unfair selection for redundancy and discrimination on age and disability grounds. She said she believed her former solicitor had submitted the complaints and accepted they were late. The adjudication officer found Munoz had not established reasonable cause to extend the time limit, noting she had received legal advice. The WRC therefore had no jurisdiction to hear either complaint.
