WRC says it had no jurisdiction over Liam Kelly’s late equality complaint

The Workplace Relations Commission said it had no jurisdiction to investigate Liam Kelly’s equality complaint against Muintir Na Tire because it was filed outside the time limit. The decision was dated 17 November 2025. The merits were not decided. Kelly’s complaint concerned a decision not to appoint him as a director. He said he pursued an internal appeal and believed it had to be completed before he could complain to the WRC. The respondent argued that his claim was out of time. The adjudicator found that Kelly had not shown reasonable cause explaining and justifying his delay. The WRC therefore treated the claim as statute-barred and did not investigate it. No monetary award is recorded.
