The Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) found Ger Malone’s complaint that Services Industrial Professional Technical Union (SIPTU) penalised her for making protected disclosures was not well founded. The decision was dated 15 April 2025, and no compensation was awarded. Malone, an Industrial Organiser employed by SIPTU, alleged she made 17 protected disclosures and suffered 29 acts of penalisation. SIPTU rejected the allegations. The adjudication officer found five disclosures qualified for protection but found Malone had not established that the alleged acts in the period under consideration constituted penalisation. The officer also declined to extend the time limit for earlier alleged acts.
