The Workplace Relations Commission found that A Government Department did not engage in prohibited conduct in an Equal Status complaint by A Member of the Travelling Community. The decision was dated 24 April 2024. The complainant alleged the department failed to administer benefits because of their membership of the Travelling Community. The complainant did not attend the hearing and gave no sworn evidence establishing facts from which discrimination could be presumed. The WRC found the complaint not well founded after the complainant did not attend; the merits were not decided.
