The Workplace Relations Commission found Edward Riordan’s age and disability discrimination complaints against All-star Deliveries Unlimited Company not well founded. A separate Payment of Wages complaint was withdrawn. The decision, dated 9 October 2023, concerned Riordan’s claim that his work was reduced because of his age and that he was dismissed because of a disability. The company disputed both allegations. On the age claim, the adjudicator found no evidence that Riordan’s hours were further reduced in August 2022. The decision to stop assigning him work after an incident at a client’s loading bay was linked to that incident, not his age. On disability discrimination, the adjudicator found there was insufficient evidence to establish that Riordan had a disability at the relevant time or a prima facie case of discrimination. The pay claim, which alleged €1,566 was owed, was withdrawn at the hearing; that amount was not an award.
