WRC dismisses Gavin Dooley’s unfair-dismissal complaint after hearing absence

The Workplace Relations Commission dismissed Gavin Dooley’s unfair-dismissal complaint after he did not attend the hearing. The WRC decision, dated 2 February 2024, said the complaint was not well founded; because Dooley was absent, the merits were not decided. Dooley had alleged that Windmill Healthcare Group unfairly dismissed him. He worked for the group in several roles, most recently as an Activities Co-Ordinator, until his employment ended in September 2022. The respondent attended the hearing.
